About

Welcome to Teach Digital

Dear Visitor,

Thank you for visiting my site!

My name is Matthew Worwood and TeachDigital is for educators who use digital media to nurture creativity and individual expression.

While my focus is toward creativity and digital media I am greatly interested in education reform and how these two elements contribute to 21st Century learning.

My background (degree) is drama, my skills are digital media, and my interest is creativity. I have worked in education for most of my adult life and follow the work of Sir Ken Robinson (my articles are infested with his ideology).

I am an Apple Distinguished Educator, with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and an employee at the Center for 21st Century Skills at EDUCATION CONNECTION. Primarily my work entails leading the development of a Digital Media and Art sequence for the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (an academy for high school students interested in STEM), as well as maintaining the digital media and film aspect of a state initiative called Connecticut Career Choices.

As part of my recent work I have developed the Connecticut Student Film Festival, supported the creation of www.ctstudentfilms.org, managed the Digital Media and Movie Making program, created a 3D Modeling and Animation curriculum, established a 3D virtual world for students in the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, and implemented a variety of film challenges in the state of Connecticut.

I am currently in my final year of a Masters program in education policy with a specialism in creativity (its a unique connection!).

Please feel free to connect via LinkedIn, You Tube or Twitter. I’m always interested in meeting new friends who share a common passion for education.

Get Engaged was a video produced by the Center for 21st Century Skills at EDUCATION CONNECTION. It recently received an Honorable Mention in CABE’s 2011 Award of Excellence for Educational Communications contest.
